I Am A Success: Eduardo’s Story

“Mentors are what make the future possible for youth,” says North High senior and longtime P4K participant, Eduardo. While most high school seniors are still trying to figure out what they want their future to look like, Eduardo already has his plan laid out, including college, an internship and a full-time job with a solid company. He credits P4K and the mentor support that he received by participating in the agency programs for helping him to discover at an early age what his future could be. I Am A Success: Mar Sha Paw

Mar Sha Paw moved to the U.S. in 2008 from a refugee camp in Thailand. She struggled to adjust to her new surroundings, learning a new language, and a new way of life.  Mar Paw was shy and felt self-conscious about how her English pronunciation sounded out-loud, so making friends and participating in school was difficult at first. P4K Employee Spotlight: Porschea McAllister

Congratulations to P4K Program Coordinator, Porschea McAllister who is our featured employee spotlight this week! Porschea McAllister said the love and compassion P4K shows its students is the same qualities that P4K shows its employees. “Desmond Tutu said ‘We are each made for goodness, love and compassion. Our lives are transformed as much as the world is when we live with these truths.’ I believe that this quote summarizes what P4K not only strives to do, but does within its family. P4K is a family. Not just a family of coworkers, but of mentors and students and...
