COVID-19 Response

Kids need to be engaged.
Now, more than ever.

Every day, Partnership 4 Kids supports over 3,300 underserved students in Omaha Public Schools. We work in the classroom, take kids on college and career tours, and connect them with mentors who inspire kids through hands-on learning experiences.

But today, all of this is different.
We can’t be in the classroom with our students, but we are still providing books to elementary students and virtual reading lessons with the help of our volunteers. Our 914 middle school, high school, and post-secondary students are still in e-learning mode, and struggling with isolation, anxiety, and new academic pressures. So far, we’ve distributed over 60 laptops to students, helping them stay on track in school. We’ve also dramatically increased our connections with students to weekly one-on-one sessions, plus twice monthly group sessions. We are also evaluating home safety, basic needs, and providing appropriate community referrals during this difficult time, all while maintaining high engagement with P4K and school.

Partnership 4 Kids Covid-19 Crisis Fund

For only $35 per week or $150 per month, you can sponsor one student’s Coronavirius-adapted levels of ongoing support. That’s nearly $5,000 per day needed to service all of our 914 current students. Every gift matters!

One month of Coronavirus-adapted services for all 914 kids will require more than $100,000.

We are in dire need of funds for the additional costs incurred while evolving our programs and services to a virtual environment amid the outbreak.

Area banks are also making it easy for you to donate. You can make contributions to the Partnership 4 Kids Crisis Fund at the drive-up windows of any of these area banks:

  • FNBO | First National Bank of Omaha
  • Bank of Bennington
  • Core Bank
  • Pinnacle Banks

Your crisis contribution will support:

  • Quadruple the number of one-on-one connections between mentors, facilitators and students — 2 times per week, versus 2-3 times per month prior to the crisis.
  • Increased safety, wellness and nutrition check-ins for 914 kids in quarantine or isolation.
  • Ongoing support for our mentors regarding Covid-19 precautions and engagement with their mentees at this time.
  • The program’s future — benefiting local students who require individualized attention, academic and development support — for this year’s class and the next.

You can help.

  • When our students return to school, it will be critical that we have group mentors in place to help them reengage with academics, goal setting and future-oriented thinking. Now is a great time to sign up to become a mentor.
