We are Omaha’s only college-bound, in-school, curriculum-based mentoring program cultivating Omaha’s future workforce. We are also the only program supporting students from pre-k to and through college. We have students of all ages who need a mentor. Get involved and positively impact their future.

Book Buddies

Reading is the basis of success. That’s why it is important to expose children to reading at an early age.

Book Buddies read to our pre-k and kindergarten students. Once a month, Book Buddies read a new book to their classroom of students, adding that book to each child’s home library.

  • Program Commitment: 1+ year
  • Time Commitment: One hour, once a month, September – June school year
  • Schools: Belvedere Elementary, Conestoga Magnet, Field Club Elementary, Fontenelle Elementary, Franklin Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Kellom Elementary, King Elementary, Miller Park Elementary, Mount View Elementary, Sherman Elementary and Skinner Magnet Center.

Goal Buddies

In first through fifth grades, Goal Buddies cultivate student accomplishments in reading and life skills through goal setting: a powerful thinking process that turns ideas into realities, dreams into bright futures.

Once a month, pairs of Goal Buddies meet with students from two classrooms to review goals.

  • Program Commitment: 1+ year
  • Time Commitment: One and a half hours, once a month, September – June school year
  • Schools: Belvedere Elementary, Conestoga Magnet, Field Club Elementary, Fontenelle Elementary, Franklin Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Kellom Elementary, King Elementary, Miller Park Elementary, Mount View Elementary, Sherman Elementary and Skinner Magnet Center

Group Mentoring

In sixth through tenth grades, students receive a true group mentoring experience. One mentor is matched with a group of four students.

Two times a month, Group Mentors meet with their mentees in the classroom and together they pursue program curriculum, career exploration and post-secondary planning. Additional group outings deepen the mentor/mentee relationship.

  • Program Commitment: 1+ year
  • Time Commitment: One and a half hour, three times a month, September – June school year
  • Schools
    • Middle Schools: Lewis & Clark, McMillan, Marrs, Norris and Monroe
    • High Schools: Benson, Central, North, Northwest and South High School
