Knowledge Gained

At P4K, we believe that students gain knowledge and achieve academically as a result of participation in our program.

Elementary (Pre-k through 5/6)

92% of students’ families confirm their student was able to recall elements of the stories read to them in the P4K Book Buddy program.

90% of reading goals were achieved by elementary students grades 1-5/6.

Middle School (6-8)

An average 2.9 GPA was maintained by middle school students.

High School (9-10)

An average 3.0 GPA was maintained by high school students.

       College Access (11-12)

       An average 3.34 GPA was maintained by graduating seniors

Post-Secondary

An average 3.24 GPA was maintained by graduating post-secondary students.

 


Behavior Modified

At P4K, we believe that students’ behavior is improved and school attendance rates increase as a result of participation in our program.

Elementary (Pre-k through 5/6)

80% of life skills goals were achieved by elementary students, grades 1-5/6

Middle School (6-8)

P4K students attended 10 more days of school than students in comparison schools.

94% of students reported that they are motivated to attend school regularly because P4K.

High School (9-10)

P4K students attended 13 more days of school than students in comparison schools

90% of students reported that they are motivated to attend school regularly.


Self Worth Enhanced

At P4K, we believe that students’ self worth is enhanced as a result of participation in our program.

Elementary (Pre-k through 5/6)

92% of our students report they believe learning to set goals will help them be more successful in middle and high school.

Middle School (6-8)

90% of students reported that they are more motivated to go to college because of P4K.

For the third year in a row, P4K middle school students scored higher than non-P4K students in cognitive, behavioral and affective engagement in learning.

High School (9-10)

91% of students reported that they are more motivated to go to college because of P4K.

       For the third year in a row, P4K high school students scored              higher than non-P4K students in cognitive, behavioral and affective engagement in learning.


Graduation Rates and Post-Secondary Attendance

At P4K, we believe that student graduation rates and post-secondary attendance rates increase as a result of participation in our programs.

High School

98% of high school senior program participants graduated on time.

97%  of high school graduates enrolled in a post-secondary program.

      Post-Secondary

127 P4K students enrolled in college for the 2017-18 academic year.

32 new P4K scholarships were awarded in the 2017-18 year

94% P4K scholarships met all qualifications for scholarship renewal


Positive Community Impact

At P4K, we believe that our program has a positive impact on the neighborhoods we serve and the Omaha community at large.

Volunteers:

472 Omaha volunteers served as book buddies, goal buddies, or group mentors  for P4K students.

9,579 volunteer hours were donated by the Omaha community.

28 corporate partners or organizations supported the Book Buddy, Goal Setting & Group Mentoring programs by allowing 3 or more of their employees to volunteer during the work day.
